Massachusetts mom, daughter die in blaze just before the start of school
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The bodies of a Massachusetts mother and daughter have been found nearly 20 hours after a fire broke out at an Uxbridge apartment building.
The 45-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter were unaccounted after the four-alarm blaze that was reported at about 11 p.m. Monday in an old farm house that had been subdivided into five units.
Workers at the Sherborn Day Spa identify the mother as Suzanne Donovan. Donovan manages the spa. It took firefighters more than 12 hours to recover the bodies of her and her daughter, 6-year-old Fina.

Suzanne and Fina moved to their Uxbridge apartment just a few months ago. Fina was expected to begin first grade this week.
Neighbors told firefighters Suzanne and Fina were seen earlier Monday, but were unaccounted for after the fire. Suzanne's vehicle was still in the driveway.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Prior to the discovery of their remains, State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan voiced plans for a "detailed search" of the rubble.
One body was found in the rubble of the building late Tuesday morning. Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. did not say whether the body found was an adult or a child. A second body was removed late Tuesday afternoon.
There was no immediate word on a cause. Officials are waiting to identify the woman and child until medical examinations are completed. The fire is believed to have started on the first floor.
