Authorities say they're investigating the death of a man whose body was found in an ice-covered pool at a home north of New York City.
Police in the Dutchess County city of Beacon tell the Poughkeepsie Journal that they were called to the home Wednesday. They said a relative of the vacationing property owners was checking on the home and noticed a paper bag from a convenience store sitting on the porch.
Officers searched the property and found the elderly man's body in the pool, which had several inches of ice on top. The man hasn't been identified. Police say his death doesn't appear to be suspicious.
"It appears that he had been there at least a couple of days," Police Chief Doug Solomon told the Journal. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Beacon is approximately 60 miles north of New York City.
