Police say they are searching for the suspect after an off-duty city police officer was killed in a possible "domestic-related" homicide.
Prince George’s County Police spokesperson Julie Parker tells MyFoxDC.com a male off-duty Metropolitan Police Department officer was found fatally shot in his home late Tuesday. She did not identify the officer.
The Associated Press reports authorities believe the officer was killed by a family member.
Police initially believed the suspect might be barricaded inside the home, but they now say the suspect has left the area and an active search is underway.
