Man Allegedly Breaks Into Store to Join Friend in Jail
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A California man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Kmart in an effort to be arrested and reunited with his recently jailed friend.
Early Friday morning, South Lake Tahoe police responded to a report of smashed front doors at the store and found the 19-year-old man hiding near the rear of the business, according to the Tahoe Daily Tribune.
A police statement said the man’s friend was arrested earlier that night on a DUI suspicion and he was “upset that he was not arrested with his friend.”
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}He later joined his friend in El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of prowling and attempted burglary.
