Lyle was accused of punching Juan Ricardo Hernandez, 63, who then fell and suffered a brain injury, the media outlet reported. Hernandez was said to be “unresponsive, intubated” at the time of Lyle’s arrest, the Miami Herald reported citing a police report. Hernandez died on Thursday night.

The incident occurred Sunday night when Lyle was in Miami and was traveling in a car to the Miami International Airport with his family. The car Lyle was traveling in allegedly cut off another car on the Dolphin Expressway. The two automobiles stopped at a light and the driver of the car, who was identified as Hernandez, allegedly got out of his vehicle and banged on the window of the car the soap opera star was in.

The actor’s brother-in-law, who was not identified, got out of the car to tell Hernandez not to bang on his window but saw the vehicle roll away and ran after it, the arrest report stated, according to the Miami Herald. The brother-in-law said he did not see Lyle punch the victim but that the soap opera star ran into the car and told him to “drive away.”

ABC News reported Lyle, who was named one of the people “50 Most Beautiful” by People en Espanol in 2015, admitted to punching Hernandez. Lyle told police “he was in fear for the safety of his family” and confronted the man to “protect his family,” the arrest form stated, according to the Miami Herald. The soap opera star said he thought the victim was going to hit him.

Surveillance video of the incident obtained by the Miami Herald showed a man put his hands up before he was punched. The man was seen falling to the ground after being hit.

Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Lisa Walsh said the court was aware the victim died “and enhanced charges are likely to be filed."

“Based on this change of circumstances, this Court is rescinding the travel order,” the statement read.
