Twenty years after a jury awarded a New Mexico woman $2.9 million after she burned herself on McDonald's coffee, a Los Angeles woman filed a suit also claiming that she was badly burned by the coffee.
The Los Angeles Times reported that on Jan. 12, 2012, Paulette Carr says a lid was "improperly" placed on her coffee at a drive-through, which resulted "in the lid coming off the top of the coffee at the window." The coffee spilled on her, Carr reportedly says in a lawsuit. The extent of her injuries is unclear.
Neither the woman’s lawyer nor McDonald’s responded to the newspaper in the report.
