A Washington woman convicted of murdering a pregnant woman and cutting the baby from her womb has been sentenced to life in prison.
The Tri-City Herald reports that 25-year-old Phienchai Sisouvanh Synhavong (PEE'-en-chay SIS'-oo-vahn SIN'-ha-vahng) was sentenced Wednesday.
She was found guilty of aggravated first-degree murder in the June 2008 death of Araceli Camacho Gomez, whose body was found in a city park. The baby survived and is now living with his father.

Benton County prosecutor Andy Miller declined to seek the death penalty in the case, so life in prison was the only sentencing option for the conviction.
