Infant and Three Others Dead in NJ Family Murder-Suicide
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}In an incident police described as a murder-suicide involving "mostly family members," a gunman shot dead three people, including an infant, before turning the weapon on himself at a home in Bayonne, N.J., late Monday.
Police found a woman outside the home with a gunshot wound after being called to the residence about 8:00 p.m. local time amid reports of gunfire, The Jersey Journal reported.
Despite speaking limited English she was able to alert officers to further victims inside the home.

A baby boy, aged between 12 and 18 months, was rushed to a nearby hospital -- also suffering a gunshot wound -- but did not survive.
The gunman died inside the home but it was not yet clear if he shot himself before or after the police entered the house.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The woman found outside the home was transported to the Bayonne Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
A neighbor told NBC New York his brother had heard fighting coming from the home before gunshots were heard. Police said between 15 and 20 shots were fired.
"It is a tragedy and a senseless loss of life for the family and the community as a whole," Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith told reporters at the scene.

There was some suggestion the gunman was visiting his ex-wife at the home, according to The New York Times.
Autopsies will be performed on the victims Tuesday.
