Homeless Man Decapitates Another Homeless Man in Florida
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say a 53-year-old homeless man was decapitated by another homeless man during what they believe started as a fight over food.
Sarasota Sheriff's Office officials say the fight began Tuesday morning in a wooded area near Sarasota.
The Sarasota Herald-Tribune cites a sheriff's report that indicates Stephen C. Webber was cooking food with 48-year-old Ricky L. Leer and another man in an area where many homeless people camp.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Witnesses told detectives that Leer became enraged when Webber knocked over the grill.
According to witnesses, Leer jumped Webber and chopped at his head with a machete.
Leer has been charged with second-degree murder. Jail records do not list an attorney for Leer.
