Georgia Middle School Teacher Indicted on Sex Charges

A former Bulloch County middle school teacher has been indicted on charges she had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student.

The Statesboro Herald reports that 35-year-old Amy Bass Jackson is charged with eight separate counts, including statutory rape, aggravate child molestation, unlawful disposition of material to minors and child exploitation. Jackson has been in jail since she was arrested July 27.

Authorities say Jackson had sex with the teen at least once and exchanged lewd text messages with him, including photos, on multiple occasions during July.

Jackson resigned from the school district during the investigation.

She remains in jail without bond. Jackson's attorney did not immediately return requests for comment.
