A southwest Florida sheriff's deputy is facing a DUI charge after officials say he crashed his cruiser into another vehicle near Naples.
Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Michelle Batten says Cpl. Scott Russell didn't see a vehicle at a stop light. When he swerved to avoid that car, he hit another. She tells the Naples Daily News (bit.ly/1M4jE3E) that no one was injured.
Witnesses told deputies Russell appeared to be "incoherent and dazed."

Russell was treated and released at a hospital.
Batten says deputies investigating the crash determined Russell was driving impaired and was arrested and charged with DUI. The hospital didn't take a blood test and he refused a field sobriety test. She says he'll be on administrative leave during an investigation.
It wasn't clear whether he's hired a lawyer.
