MIAMI – A Florida woman has been charged with trying to sell her eight-month-old son for $7,000, The Miami Herald reported Monday.
Kenia Quiala Bosque, 30, was arrested at her apartment in Opa-locka, Fla., on Sunday on a felony charge of adoption violation, the newspaper said.
Police were led to Bosque after a confidential informant told them she had arranged to meet him in Hialeah, a suburb of Miami, to sell her baby, The Herald reported.
Bosque did not show up to the planned meeting but authorities said they had recorded four telephone calls between her and the informant and had enough evidence for the arrest.
"Bosque placed [her son] in harm by attempting to sell the child, which would cause emotional trauma to the child," the arrest form said, according to The Herald.
She is being held in a Miami-Dade County jail on $5,000 bond. Officials said Bosque's children are in the custody of relatives.
