RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Prosecutors are considering filing multiple charges against a man accused of intentionally ramming a school bus head-on in Southern California.
A Riverside County sheriff's deputy says investigators submitted their report to prosecutors on Thursday.
They asked that 44-year-old Joseph Anthony Garcia be charged with eight counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one each for the seven students onboard and their driver.
Three students and the driver were treated for minor injuries after the crash Wednesday in Pedley. Garcia is hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Authorities say he tried to climb a fence on an overpass but failed, then got into his car and struck the bus on an off-ramp.
