Delaware man charged with 6th DUI after traffic stop

Police have charged a Delaware man with his sixth DUI after he was stopped for speeding.

Officers said Monday that 51-year-old William Terry of Bridgeville was stopped Jan. 11 for allegedly driving 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. Laurel police Officer Christopher Story says Terry refused to submit to field tests to determine whether he was under the influence and a search warrant was obtained to seize his blood for testing.

Authorities say Terry was found to be driving under the influence and did not have the automobile ignition interlock device he was required to have.

Story says Terry's DUI convictions date to 1990.
