District of Columbia police say they temporarily evacuated a police station and a few nearby businesses after someone brought a hand grenade to the station for disposal.
Police did not elaborate on why or how the person had the grenade in the first place but told WRC-TV (http://tinyurl.com/qj84sa6) that the grenade was brought to the station on Sunday to be disposed of.
Among the buildings evacuated around the Fourth District police station in northwest Washington were a Wal-Mart and a McDonald's.
