LOS ANGELES – Danny Trejo has voiced his support for students following a brawl at a Los Angeles high school.
KNBC-TV reports video of the Monday fight at Sylmar High School shows some 40 students involved. It took a dozen officers to get things under control.
Some say the fight at the majority Latino school was racially charged.
The Los Angeles Times says the Mexican-American actor took the floor at a community meeting at the school Wednesday after students weren't given the chance to voice their concerns. KTLA reports that Trejo told administrators that they had their "heads in the sand."
The Los Angeles Times reports students staged a brief walkout during school Thursday.
Trejo is known for his tough guy roles in the "Machete" films and "From Dusk till Dawn,"
