"How could you lock a young man up for trying to be a father to his kids?" Young said.

Young, 24, couldn't hide his emotions, when talking about his 6-year-old twins, Aaron Jr. and Aaerion.

U.S. Marshals arrested Young Tuesday night in a South Sacramento home on a warrant, after investigators said he kidnapped his kids from Osceola, Arkansas.

Young says this is all a misunderstanding.

"How could you say I kidnapped my kids when my name is on the birth certificate and everything?" Young said.

Young is their biological father. But investigators said he does not have custody of them.

In early October, Young said he took a bus to Arkansas to celebrate the twins' 6th birthday. But when their mother died of cancer on Oct. 15, he said it was a wake up call.

"I really love my kids, and I feel it's time I really step up and be a man. And if somebody has a problem about me being a man, oh well. That's their problem," Young said.

He said he told the the mother's family in Arkansas he was going to move the kids to Sacramento with his current girlfriend and youngest daughter.

He said he started the legal process to get custody of the twins, and began looking for schools in Sacramento.

Then, he said he found out their mother's sister was also fighting for custody.

"They try to get me to the courthouse but I refuse to sign some papers. Saying, 'I'm her auntie. This is my auntie. I want to have custody of my kids' So I'm not going to do that," Young said.

Young has seven children across the country.

He told us he has a good relationship with their mothers, but admitted he does not have custody of any of his children, and does not pay child support.
