Couple charged in deaths of 2 kids found in storage unit

A California couple with 22 years of age between them appeared briefly in court to face charges they killed two of the woman's young children, stuffed their bodies in a plastic bin and stashed them in a rental storage unit.

Tami Joy Huntsman, 39, and her 17-year-old companion appeared in Monterey County Superior Court to be arraigned on first-degree murder charges for the deaths of Huntsman's 6-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son. Authorities say the children died Nov. 27 because of long-term and ongoing abuse. They're bodies were found Dec. 13.

The couple was also charged with abusing Huntsman's 9-year-old daughter, who was found with broken bones and starving.

CBS-affiliate KION reported (http://tinyurl.com/zy42ywb ) that the pair didn't enter a plea Friday. They're due back in court Jan. 20.
