LANGHORNE, Pa. – A Philadelphia man has been charged with stabbing his father to death with a sword after declaring that his father wasn't going to control his mind anymore.
Twenty-six-year-old Eli Goodrich was arraigned Wednesday in Bucks County on criminal homicide and weapon possession charges.
Authorities allege in court documents that Goodrich was on a weekly visit to the family's Middletown Township home Tuesday when he said his father wasn't "going to control my mind anymore" and he had to kill him.
Investigators say 67-year-old Alan Goodrich was found in a chair with a sword protruding from his stomach. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
A message couldn't be left Wednesday at a number listed for Eli Goodrich. Court documents don't list an attorney representing him.
