A Connecticut woman released from prison in 2013 after serving 27 years for murder says life on the outside has its own challenges, including living on a small pension and Social Security.

Bonnie Cook used to be Bonnie Foreshaw but legally changed her name. She is still adjusting to modern society but now has a cellphone and a Facebook account.

The 68-year-old Cook was convicted of murder in the 1986 shooting death of a pregnant woman in Hartford. She was to get out of prison in 2017, but won a rare grant of clemency by the state parole board. Her supporters argued she should have been convicted of manslaughter and released years ago.

Cook plans to write a book about her life and help women getting out of prison.
