LAROSE, La. -- The man who will decide payouts from BP's $20 billion compensation fund to victims of the Gulf oil spill says he'll do all he can for the families affected.
Kenneth Feinberg met Friday with victims in Louisiana. He ran the program that handed out compensation after the 9/11 tragedy.
Feinberg says the frustration and anger he's found in the Gulf is much like what the victims of Sept. 11 went through. He told people gathered in Larose and Violet, La., that a compensation program like this "cannot be administered from Washington." He says you have to come down in person and listen to what people are saying.

Feinberg urged those at the meetings to file claims, and assured them that claims they've already filed will be honored.
