A cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy says a classmate entered her room in the middle of the night in September and touched her on her thigh, moving his hand up her leg before she screamed and kicked him.

The cadet testified Wednesday at an academy hearing in the case of Alexander Stevens. He's accused of abusive sexual contact, housebreaking and unlawful entry.

The hearing is a pretrial investigation similar to a civilian grand jury to determine how to dispose of the case. The investigating officer could recommend that the case be dismissed, dealt with administratively or referred for trial by court-martial.

The cadet says she was told that Stephens later told an official he made a mistake. She says he should be expelled from the Coast Guard and sent to jail.
