CLEVELAND – A Cleveland officer found not guilty in the fatal shooting of two people in a 137-shot barrage of police gunfire has been charged with beating up his twin brother four days after his acquittal.
A criminal complaint filled Wednesday against 31-year-old Michael Brelo and brother Mark shows the two were charged with attacking each other May 27 in the suburb of Bay Village.
A warrant has been issued for the Brelos' arrests on a misdemeanor assault charge. They are expected to turn themselves in later Wednesday.
Michael Brelo was acquitted May 23 in the 2012 shooting of two unarmed suspects. He was accused of firing the final 15 shots of the barrage while standing on the hood of the suspects' car.
He is on unpaid suspension facing administrative discipline.
