A California teenager is facing criminal charges after allegedly speeding away from a crash scene with a red light camera pole in the back of his truck.

Police in Marysville, about 40 miles north of Sacramento, found Manuel Montana Herrera, 19, at a friend’s house hours after the crash early Saturday morning trying to get rid of the camera, KXTV reported.

Herrera allegedly sped away with the red light camera pole after he crashed into it at a Marysville intersection and knocked it into the back of his truck. A witness took a photograph of the pole in the back of the vehicle after Herrera pulled over about 2 miles away from the accident spot.

He was arrested on charges of a hit-and-run traffic collision and grand theft.
