{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}REDLANDS, Calif. -- Authorities say a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was killed during a pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph.
The CHP says seven-year veteran Tom Coleman was pronounced dead at the San Bernardino County intersection where he smashed into a tractor-trailer around 6:30 a.m. Friday.
CHP spokesman Daniel Hesser says the four people in a car Coleman was pursuing for vehicle code violations have been arrested on undisclosed charges.

This is the second CHP motorcycle officer involved in a serious crash this week. An officer remains in critical condition after a driver crashed into him and a car he had pulled over on a Los Angeles freeway.
