ROSEMEAD, Calif. – The 14-year-old granddaughter of a slain Southern California couple and her 21-year-old boyfriend have been charged with murder after authorities tracked them down in Texas.
Los Angeles County prosecutors filed the charges against Sophia Cristo and Rodolfo Lopez on Friday. The pair was arrested in Horizon City, Texas, Wednesday, two days after Jack Dell Bezner and his wife Susan were found stabbed to death in their home in Rosemead.
Authorities traced the Bezner's missing car to Texas, where they found the suspects.
Prosecutors haven't decided whether to seek the death penalty for Lopez. Cristo isn't eligible for the death penalty because of her age.
Both were being held in Texas without bail.
