Boy could face life in prison if charged as adult

A 17-year-old Maine boy charged with killing his parents could face 25 years to life in prison on each count if prosecutors succeed in charging him as an adult.

The Kennebec Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2glkOTh) a judge has ruled details of the double slaying will remain sealed for at least two more months.

Andrew Balcer (BAHL'-sur) is accused of killing Antonio and Alice Balcer in their Winthrop home on Oct. 31.

The court has ordered a psychological examination for Balcer set for Dec. 7.

Police say a 911 call led them to the parents' bodies. A neighbor says she called for help in the early morning hours after she heard a woman come to her door saying someone had a gun and she feared for her life.
