Bomb threat prompts plane evacuation at Philadelphia airport

PHILADELPHIA -- A plane at Philadelphia International Airport was evacuated early Saturday after someone called in a bomb threat.

Airport officials received a call at approximately 2:00am local time from someone who claimed there was a bomb on a plane, WCAU-TV reported.

The caller gave a flight number that did not match any planes at Philadelphia International, an airport spokesperson said, but the only plane on the ground at the time -- a US Airways commuter plane with 28 people on board -- was evacuated.

Officials searched the aircraft for a bomb and found nothing, according to WCAU.

No one has been arrested for making the threat. An investigation was ongoing Saturday.
