MINNEAPOLIS – Authorities say five family members found dead in their suburban Minneapolis home this week died in what they refer to as a murder-suicide.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office issued statements Saturday saying that 45-year-old Brian Short died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound to his head. It says his wife and three children were all homicide victims who died of shotgun wounds to their heads.
The office didn't specifically say that Short killed his wife and children. Lt. Steve Neururer (NOO'-er) of the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department said he hadn't seen the reports and couldn't confirm or deny anything.
Police found the dead family members in their Greenwood home on Thursday after they hadn't been seen in days.
