Authorities say one person was injured and a suspect has been arrested in a shooting at a Kia automobile plant in Georgia.

Troup County sheriff's Sgt. Stewart Smith confirmed the shooting Tuesday afternoon inside the auto plant near the Georgia-Alabama state line. Smith said one person was wounded had been taken to a hospital by helicopter. He said authorities had a lone suspect in custody.

Few other details were immediately available. Smith said authorities evacuated the plant and it appeared to be clear following a sweep.

He did not know how severely the shooting victim had been injured.

Spokesmen for Kia did not immediately return phone calls and an email message seeking further information Tuesday afternoon.
