A hearing is expected to be held early next year to help determine if a woman charged with killing a social worker and three relatives in Vermont is fit to stand trial.
The attorney for Jody Herring argues the 42-year-old woman is unfit for trial while prosecutors maintain she is competent.
In a Friday hearing in Barre, Vermont, Herring's attorney David Sleigh said he has two experts who will testify Herring is unfit for trial. But the prosecution says its expert will testify to the opposite.

Herring is charged with shooting Vermont social worker Lara Sobel outside her workplace in August 2015. The police believe that before shooting Sobel, Herring shot and killed three relatives.
Prosecutors allege that Herring was upset at losing custody of her daughter.
