FORT CARSON, Colo. – The Army is holding a hearing in Colorado to decide whether an infantryman should face a court-martial on charges of fatally shooting another soldier when they were deployed in Jordan.
A hearing is scheduled Wednesday for 23-year-old Spc. Jeffery T. Page, of Ohio, on murder charges in the death of 19-year-old Spc. Adrian M. Perkins, who's from California.
Charging documents say Perkins was shot with an M4 rifle at an air base in Jordan in May. Authorities haven't revealed a motive or the circumstances of the death.
Page is also charged with manslaughter, negligent homicide and failure to obey an order or regulation.
If convicted of murder, he could face life in prison without parole.
Both soldiers were in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team at Fort Carson, outside Colorado Springs.
