Arizona man missing part of scalp after bear attack

A doctor says a 30-year-old Arizona man who survived a bear attack at the Ponderosa Campground is missing part of his scalp.
Peter Baca is recovering after spending several hours in surgery for numerous wounds on his hands, arms and head, Dr. Frank Mitchell told MyFoxPhoenix.com.
He says Baca's the tissue on his head was torn in multiple places.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"The most impressive injury was the scalp injury that he had, where the tissue on his head was torn in multiple places, and there was a big flap of tissue," Dr. Mitchell said.
Baca was attacked by the bear in his tent early Saturday morning while his fiancee and child escaped unharmed. Doctors are monitoring Baca for any infections, but say he’ll likely make a full recovery.
Arizona authorities killed two bears in the Tonto National Forest after three attacks on three people since May 31 in the Payson area. The most recent attack marks the third bear attack in just a matter of weeks.
