Police say a 90-year-old Virginia woman started a chain-reaction accident that caused another car to strike and kill the woman's longtime friend and neighbor as she stood in her yard.
Danville Police said in a statement that Ruth Buckner changed lanes in a Mercury sedan Thursday and hit a Pontiac, which veered off the road and hit 89-year-old Rachel Bucker in the yard of her home.
Rachel Buckner was taken to a hospital, where she died. No other injuries were reported.
