7 injured, 1 critical after car crashes into bicyclists in Arkansas

A Massachusetts-based summer camp organization says one person is in critical condition after a car crashed into a group of bicyclists traveling through Arkansas on a cross-country trip.
The crash happened Tuesday afternoon near McCrory, about 90 miles northeast of Little Rock. Authorities say a car driving north on Arkansas 17 crashed into a group of 13 bicyclists also traveling north.
The cross-country trip was organized by Williamstown, Mass.-based Overland, which provides summer camp programs for kids ages 10 to 19.

Overland director Jonathan Igoe said Wednesday the group of cyclists included 11 high school students and two adult guides. Igoe says six students and one guide were taken to hospitals after the crash. Two people have been released. Five people remained hospitalized Wednesday, including one in critical condition.
