NEW ORLEANS -- A prosecutor says Hurricane Katrina's chaotic aftermath can't excuse the actions of five current and former police officers being tried on charges in the death of a man whose burned body was found after he was shot by one of the officers.
Prosecutor Tracey Knight told a jury Wednesday that New Orleans police officers Dwayne Scheuermann and Gregory McRae burned the body of 31-year-old Henry Glover in a car to destroy evidence and cover up the Sept. 2, 2005 shooting.
Knight also said former officers Robert Italiano and Travis McCabe falsified a report to make it appear as if the shooting by former officer David Warren was justified.

Knight said Glover was unarmed and posed no threat. Warren's lawyer said his client believed Glover was reaching for a weapon.
