North Carolina deputies catch couple burying body in woods
Toni Hearne and Linsey Lentz are charged with murder, in the death of Hearne's uncle
Two people in North Carolina were arrested after a sheriff's deputy found them trying to bury a body behind an abandoned house, MyFox8.com reported.
Tony Hearne, 51, and Linsey Lentz, 33, were charged with murder and failure to report a death.
Hearne reportedly denied killing his uncle and claimed he was defending himself when he choked the man to death. “We brought him up here. I just panicked to hide him. I didn’t know what to do,” Hearne said.
He did not say when the fight took place.
“I never wanted to fight my uncle but he came in and came at me with his knife,” Hearne added. “So we were fighting and I tried to defend myself. He was choking me and I was choking him.”
Investigators say the body was covered with leaves, tires and wood.
