RHINELANDER, Wis. – A northern Wisconsin teenager is charged with killing her mother and stepfather and trapping her younger siblings in a room.
A criminal complaint filed in Oneida County charges 17-year-old Ashlee Martinson with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and three counts of false imprisonment.
The complaint says the oldest of the three younger children, a 9-year-old girl, told detectives that Martinson killed Thomas and Jennifer Ayers. The girl told investigators that she heard two gunshots in their home Sunday morning and saw Martinson fighting with her mother.
She told investigators that Martinson later placed her and her two sisters, ages 2 and 8, in a room and tied the door shut.
Martinson and a 22-year-old man were later arrested in Boone County, Indiana, where they remained in jail Tuesday.
