100-mph freeway chase ends in naked arrest in Los Angeles

Published April 23, 2016

Associated Press

Police say a woman who may have mental problems tried to run down her parents and led authorities on a 100-mph chase along Southern California freeways before finally taking off her clothes on a Los Angeles street.

The chase began around 10:30 p.m. Friday after Pasadena police received a 911 call that the woman had argued with her parents and tried to run them over.

She was spotted near the Rose Bowl. Authorities say she then drove an SUV through northern Los Angeles County and into Ventura County, turned around and finally ended up in downtown Los Angeles, where she parked and got out.

Police say the woman stripped naked as police arrived.

Thirty-two-year-old Simone Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. She remains jailed.
