For those who love the television series "The Walking Dead," it’s time to rejoice as it was announced Sunday that Universal Studios Hollywood is set to debut a theme park attraction based on the award-winning show.

The Walking Dead Attraction is scheduled to open in summer 2016.

The announcement was made Sunday night following a new episode of "The Walking Dead." On the accompanying reaction show, "The Talking Dead." host Chris Hardwick announced that Universal Studios Hollywood will be opening the permanent theme park attraction based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series and the AMC series of the same name.

The attraction will feature zombies, people and locations familiar to fans from the TV show and comic books, and will also be highlighted by special effects, animatronics and live performers. Walking Dead director Greg Nicotero and many members of the production team will be involved in the creation of the attraction
