It may be hard to believe, but Marisa Scheinfeld's haunted hotel photos were once glamourous resorts for middle-class East Coast families. These upstate New York hotels reside in an area known as the Borscht Belt, and was commonly known for attracting Jewish guests who were unwelcome at other hotels. The Borscht Belt was in its prime in the 1960s, with the Jerry Lewis Theater Club at Brown's, meals at Grossinger's and a ski chalet at the Nevele as just a few of the places to go.
