    Arenal Kioro Suites and Spa The conically-shaped Arenal is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, with ash columns, rumbling and lava flows happening almost on a daily basis. It was thought to be dormant for a long time, but it completely wiped off the map the village of Tabacon in the summer of 1968, and has remained very active since.
