'Hannity' on Biden's 'discriminatory' agenda, Lia Thomas controversy

This is a rush transcript from "Hannity," January 27, 2022. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
SEAN HANNITY, FOX NEWS HOST: All right. Welcome to "Hannity". Big breaking news on multiple fronts tonight.
Joe Biden continues to see his dismal approval numbers crater even more, including in one key battleground state. So how low can Joe go? Full coverage straight ahead.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
And far left failures all across the West Coast are now more undeniable than ever. Comedian Adam Carolla will join us to sound off on all of this California craziness. As goes, California, so goes the rest of the country.
And more controversy tonight's surrounding trans athletes in women's sports. Are female athletes being treated unfairly? Caitlyn Jenner will be here and will react to new developments surrounding the University of Pennsylvania's women's swimming team. All of that tonight.
But first, we go to the U.S. Supreme Court where Joe Biden today reaffirmed his commitment to using race and gender as the basis for deciding who to nominate to fill Justice Breyer's soon-to-be vacant seat.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
Here's Joey earlier today.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOE BIDEN, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATESE: The person I will nominate will be someone with extraordinary qualifications, character, experience and integrity, and that person will be the first black woman ever nominated to United States Supreme Court. I'll meet with the potential nominees and it's my intention -- my intention to announce my decision before the end of February. I have made no choice at this point.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
Thank you all so very, very much for being here. I'm not going to take any questions because I think it's inappropriate to take questions with the justice here. He's still sitting on the bench.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: I'm not allowed. I can't do it. I'll get -- they're going to yell at me and everything, and I won't get my ice cream cone. Anyway, so right off the bat, Biden is excluding all potential candidates who are not African-American women.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
But ask yourself, isn't this agenda in and of itself discriminatory? Imagine that we put out a poll, he said, okay, next time I'm on vacation, you get to pick -- the fill-in for this show and they have what two categories only can you choose from, you decide. Would that be fair?
Anyway, picking candidates based on race and gender it's not only extremely divisive but likely unconstitutional. The Supreme Court in its own jurisprudence has ruled that classifications based on race are subject to the strictness of scrutiny and has found that discrimination based on race unconstitutional.
And as law professor Jonathan Turley has pointed out, the president will only consider a black woman for the next nomination, a threshold gender and race condition that the court itself has found unconstitutional for schools and unlawful for private businesses.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
So the question is, is it okay for Joe to do it and why is he doing it? Is it -- you know, it's not because he's deeply concerned about racial justice. We know that's a lie because remember, he did work with Robert the former Klansman Byrd. He wanted to stop the integration of schools because he was worried about schools becoming in his words racial jungles.
No. Joe Biden is being bullied into the decision by the new extreme left. They're using the Supreme Court pick as another way to flex their power, show their strength, it's identity politics on steroids.
In short, Biden was forced to make this decision. For example, far left New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman tweeting out: Mr. President, you promised us a black woman on the Supreme Court. Let's see it happen.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
Congresswoman Pressley added, quote: It is time for a black woman on the Supreme Court.
Now, this all raises the question how much was Breyer forced out? Is he retiring on his own terms, on his own timeline? Apparently not.
We're also learning tonight that South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn -- Jim Clyburn single-handedly helped save Joe Biden's candidacy after poor showing in -- poor showings in Iowa and New Hampshire.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
It sounds like Jim Clyburn is admitting that he had a quit and a pro and a quo with old Joe, in terms of, okay, Clyburn would save Joe's faltering campaign and use South Carolina and his popularity which is huge in South Carolina, in exchange, extract a promise from Joe only to put an African- American female on the Supreme Court. Is that the only deal they made? Is there more to that deal? What other deals might be out there?
And furthermore, ask yourself, if far left Democrats and the mob and the media are so concerned about racial diversity on the court and so concerned with racial and gender justice, why are they so hell-bent on smearing Clarence Thomas every chance they get? You know, remember over at MSDNC, who's just recently referred to as Uncle Clarence.
Listen to the ladies on the hard-hitting news show on ABC, "The View", actually suggesting that Justices Thomas and Amy Coney Barrett are traitors to their race and their gender for not being far-left activist judges that they want. Take a look.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You pointed out first black woman, there's only been two black men in it. That those numbers are a little shocking.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: One doesn't really represent the black community.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST: The Supreme Court is like this dictatorial branch of the government these are people who are appointed by their own people, they do not answer to the country. Amy Coney Barrett was put in there because she's a white woman who they say -- well, she'll go against abortion rights and she's a woman. So that was deliberate I think.
Clarence Thomas, a black guy, a black man, a justice, okay, I'll give it to him. He's a smart guy. But he is to the right of Attila the Hun this guy, and they put him in there thinking oh a black man will go against voting rights, which is what he does.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
HANNITY: Identity politics, flat out racism and bigotry. But to the mob, the media, there's only one standard for Democrats and then another standard for far left judges and then one standard for the rest of us.
When it comes to selecting judges, respecting the rule of law, judicial philosophy, the commitment to upholding the Constitution should be the main factors determining who you're going to pick. Now, these important decisions should not be made solely based on race or based on gender. In fact, it's disrespectful to the nominee to do so.
But because Biden's presidency is frankly imploding, even Democrats in the media mob are now admitting it. He's now desperate to try and placate his Democratic base that he's losing in droves, as new numbers now show him at an absolutely low dismal approval 34 rating in the key state of Georgia. Look at this poll from "The Atlanta Journal Constitution".
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
By the way, they didn't like me. They actually said in their year-end edition about me in 1996, it was a great year for Atlanta. The Olympics came and Sean Hannity left. I left to come to FOX News.
Anyway, it's no secret why Stacey Abrams wanted to be nowhere near Biden when he was in Atlanta earlier this month. Joe Biden is failing on policy, failing on messaging, failing everywhere in between, as Gallup finds Biden crashing when it comes to key character traits like leadership, government management and good judgment during times of crisis. I'd also add cognitively as well.
Empty rhetoric, empty promises, empty shelves and empty suit, that's pretty much sums up the Joe Biden presidency.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
And now, he's so desperate for a political win, he's willing to go all out and try and appease the radical extreme left who are now pulling the strings and have been pulling the strings of this failed presidency. For Democrats, Joe Biden, it's politics first, it's you the American people, we're dead last.
Here for reaction, Leo 2.0 Terrell, along with "FOX and Friends" weekend co-host, Pete Hegseth.
All right. So let's say I asked people to pick race, gender, whatever -- two characteristics only for people to fill in for this show, Leo. Would that be right?
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
LEO TERRELL, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: I don't think so and I've been a host of your show. Sean, let me tell you right now --
HANNITY: By the way, we need to tell the audience, in all -- Pete, in all fairness, you need to know this, Leo's filled in one time. I've had to beg Leo to fill in that one time. I've asked him 10 other times.
(CROSSTALK)
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
PETE HEGSETH, "FOX AND FRIENDS" WEEKEND CO-HOST: Come on, Leo.
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: He's turned me down at least 15 times.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
TERRELL: Pete, bail me out here. Hey, let's talk about the subject. What gives Joy Behar the right to -- I'm talking about the issue, I'm not talking, what get -- but to answer your question, this show, this Sean Hannity show is colorblind.
But what gives Behar the right to question Clarence Thomas' blackness. This is nothing more than pandering and it's insulting to black Americans because what they're telling us is if you are black, you have to be a Democrat. Tell that to Herschel Walker. Tell that to Condoleezza Rice, Candace Owens, Larry Elder and Leo Terrell.
It is insulting. It is insulting because it makes the mindset that we all think alike. Black people have different views, and the comment to pick a black female is racist. It's the number one reason why I left the Democratic Party because two years ago, Joe Biden said, if you vote for Trump, you ain't black.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
The Democrats the left wing have divided this country, Sean. You say they played every election cycle. They're planted 24/7.
And one final point, this is not going to convince black people to vote for Joe Biden and the Democrats, we hate crimes. We want crime eliminated. We hate these federal mandates.
We want the homeless problem done. We want school choice. That's what black people want.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
HANNITY: You know, Pete, let me go to you. By the way, Pete, I need to thank you personally because every time we've asked you to fill in, you've been very gracious.
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: Leo has turned us down at least 15 times. Actually, my staff is saying in my ear it's like over 24 times, but I won't bring that up. So I thank you, Pete.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
But in all seriousness, you know, we're supposed to be one American family. You know, the coolest thing when you take politics out of sports -- Stephen A and I go back and forth and text each other about this occasionally -- you know, take politics out of sports, what do you have? People with a shared passion on sport, shared passion, a team, a home team, high-fiving strangers, all socioeconomic backgrounds, races, religions. It doesn't matter.
Why don't we look for the right person, period?
HEGSETH: That's it. If you're looking for two things, I'm looking for merit and I'm looking for judicial philosophy, and I'm not going to agree with who the Democrats believe has the right judicial philosophy, that's life. But that's what it should be.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
But we should expect nothing other than this from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and let me tell you why. This is the least merit-based presidency in American history.
As Donald Trump pointed out, Barack Obama pulled up twice failed presidential candidate Joe Biden because he felt like he needed a white guy with experience and some foreign policy experience even though he's always wrong. So Barack Obama wins, Joe Biden goes along for eight years. Then, Joe Biden when he stumbles into the nomination because he promised a black female to a black congressman in a state he otherwise never would have won, he wins South Carolina and moves forward after really not being seen as a viable candidate.
Then, he says I need to pick somebody. Who should it be? A black female, it's going to be Kamala Harris, even though she couldn't pull over one percent.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}
So, no one in -- currently in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue got there because of merit. So why would we expect that this would be anything other than a box checking identity politics, politically correct, left-wing giveaway based on race from the guy who sat in front of Clarence Thomas when he said, this is a high tech lynching from the guy who said they're going to put you back in chains? This is exactly who we know Barack Obama -- or excuse me -- Joe Biden is. So, it doesn't surprise me one bit.
And I'll tell you this: I'm going to text, Leo, after this. He'll be hosting your show next time you ask him, I'll set him straight.
HANNITY: At least somebody, you know, will help us out when we're in a moment of crisis, in need.
The question I have, why does the media give Biden a pass on all the issues that Pete mentioned on race, Leo? What I mentioned about Robert Byrd -- I mean, partnering with a former Klansman, no integration, racial jungles, how does -- how did how did the media just ignore all that?
TERRELL: They -- very simple, they are agents. The media, CNN, MSNBC, Joy Reid, all those people who you play out, they are agents of the Democratic Party. They are players of the Democratic Party.
They were obsessed with getting one of the greatest presidents of all time out of office. So they pick a guy who is a racist. You could play that montage all the time, back in the early `70s up until now. Joe Biden is a racist. But they wanted him in lieu of President Trump and look what has happened to this country in the last 12 months.
We have lost our direction because of Joe Biden. So, to me, the media is -- as is responsible for the disaster this country as Joe Biden.
One final point, the only prime time show I ever go on other than that one time with Jesse Watters is the Sean Hannity Show.
HANNITY: Does that mean you'll fill in for me my next day off? How about we do a poll?
HEGSETH: He's going to win.
HANNITY: I -- Pete, I can't get him to do it, maybe you can talk him into it. You're tougher than I am.
HEGSETH: You know what, I think we just leave him be. It's the only thing I've disagreed with 2.0 since he's been 2.0. So I think we'll give him a pass on this one.
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: No, no, no, no pass.
HEGSETH: No?
HANNITY: Leo's got a man up and hosts the show. Leo, next time I'm out, you're sitting in this chair or we're just going to -- we're just going to have an empty chair for the full hour.
TERRELL: I co-host with Pete. I co-host with Pete.
HANNITY: All right. Leo, thank you.
HEGSETH: Okay, I like that too, together.
HANNITY: Actually that would be pretty cool. I'm not disagreeing.
All right. Thank you both.
TERRELL: I like that.
HANNITY: We're also learning tonight that thankfully no one was harmed after Congresswoman Cori Bush's unoccupied vehicle was hit by gunfire this weekend near St. Louis.
Now, Bush tweeted out, quote: Thankfully, no one was harmed, but any act of gun violence shakes your soul. That's why our movement is working to invest in our communities, eradicate root causes of gun violence and keep everyone safe.
But remember, Bush is one of the you know same far left Democrats that repeatedly called to defund the police, even as crime is spiking in major Democratic-run cities and states all across the country.
So how are we going to keep everyone safe and secure if we don't let police have the money to do their jobs and continue to cripple their funding, never mind their stupid bail laws?
Now, Bush herself spends tens of thousands of dollars on private security. I'm sorry she has to go through that. Sadly, I've had to live that -- that at points in my life as well.
But don't her constituents in St. Louis, don't they also deserve the same safety and security? Defund, dismantle the police doesn't work. No bail laws don't work. You know, coast to coast, we're seeing the same exact thing.
Democrats they like to attack the police and crime gets worse, including in New York where the state Republican Party slamming failed far left Governor Kathy Hochul again today -- this week, defending weak bail laws that put dangerous and violent criminals right back on the street.
Now, the party said in a statement, quote, at least now, it's crystal clear that she stands firmly with criminals over New Yorker safety. Carjackings, New York, they're up over 350 percent in just the last three years. Carjackings are up over 500 percent in Chicago since 2014.
And as we've been showing, theft, crime are brazen. Take a look at your screen. Here's a theft in broad daylight at a New York City Rite-Aid where the alleged shoplifter isn't concerned at all about getting caught and keep looking out.
In Seattle, see this guy believed to be a homeless man hauling a 70-inch TV right out of a Target last month. He reportedly has been arrested nearly two dozen times for stealing in just the last few months. Why isn't he in jail?
In Houston, a suspect was taken into custody following a standoff after allegedly shooting three police officers, thankfully, all are in stable condition expected to recover. Now, we'll continue following the story.
This is lawlessness plain and simple, the natural consequence of far left Democratic rule.
Here with reaction, Donald Trump Jr.
You know, we had -- the riots at the summer of 2020, 574 of them, dozens dead, thousands of cops injured, billions in property damage arson and looting. Okay, where's that committee, Don? Because they don't have a committee looking into that.
You see what's happening in all these videos every day, crime -- set records all last year under Joe Biden, after defunding. It's not that hard to fix, is it?
DONALD TRUMP, JR., EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AT THE TRUMP ORGANIZATION: No, it's not. It actually seems like it would be total common sense.
And before I go in my diatribe, Sean, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring to host your show when you're gone someday because I am personally offended that Leo and Pete have both had that opportunity and I have not.
HANNITY: Done.
(CROSSTALK)
TRUMP JR.: So, I feel underrepresented.
HANNITY: Maybe now we'll have the three, one, two, three, I have to take a week off. Everybody gets a day. You got it.
TRUMP: Yeah. But all kidding aside, the Democrats are not for the rule of law. The only thing that they actually tried to do whenever these things happen is actually make it harder for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves by taking away their Second Amendment rights. They do nothing towards the criminals, the places that are seeing the greatest spike in crime are the places with the most restrictive gun laws.
But they don't want to actually enforce those laws because that would be offensive to the actual criminals. What you see is outright lawlessness. Whether it's there, whether it's at the border, whether it's Joe Biden and his family the Democrats only talk about law-abiding citizens. They don't actually care if their people follow those same laws. It's ridiculous and we're seeing it on a grand scale, Sean.
And you know all throughout the summer of 2020, I couldn't understand it. Your father kept begging cities like New York and cities like Portland. As the law required, he would authorize the use and the calling up of the National Guard.
Then, it becomes the chain of command goes to the governor or the mayor of a particular state or city and every single time almost, even on January six, he approved 20,000 troops, up to 20,000 troops on January 4th, and Nancy Pelosi didn't call him up and Muriel Bowser didn't call him up and nobody wants to ask why didn't they? Because people would have been kept safe, the Capitol have been safe that day.
And I don't understand why the reluctance towards policing?
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: What's that?
TRUMP JR.: They didn't because it wouldn't work for their narrative. If you could loot courthouses, I was told that that's an insurrection when it went on for a year prior. But if they could show a divided America while Donald Trump was president, they could actually blame that on him.
Yet all the perpetrators of those crimes, all of the cities that were -- that those things happened in, all of the legislators that were in charge were all Democrats. That's literally the only common bond during that 18 months of total chaos in America, was that Democrats were a part of all of the disaster.
So, when it's not conducive to the narrative, you don't hear about it. When it is, they can try to weaponize it against conservatives. You've seen that across the board, right?
Joe Biden was going to be an elder statesman. He was going to be tough. He was going to be all of these things.
The reality is he's divisive. He's got his own racial past. The family is corrupt. He is incompetent and inept.
And literally, all of the things the left were screaming about and candidly lying about Donald Trump exactly exemplify Joe Biden, whether it's incompetence, whether it's disasters.
Remember, he was going to come in and fix all of these things. He's fixed exactly zero, Sean. In fact, he's made everything worse.
Our border is a disaster. The Russians are about to invade Ukraine. We're getting in this hawkish policy where we're talking about sending troops into war because we've been out of war for all of three or four months after the disaster in Afghanistan.
I get to read reports saying that intelligence is saying that Russians may be launching a cyber attack on America, I don't think so. I imagine that's our people lying to us to try to instigate us getting into another war to distract from the incompetence.
Do you think our posture in Ukraine has anything to do with his corrupt son raking in millions over the year? And this is the way to cover it up, that favors are being called in. No one is even asking the question because it's obvious.
Like everything else we've been told over the last five years, all we're getting is lies and diversion. And what's nice, Sean, is I think, with the disaster that we're all seeing, the American people finally get it. They're seeing it with their own eyes and that's important.
HANNITY: Let me ask you. One last, I want to play the RNC ad. I've been playing this every night because it scares the living hell out of me and it's dangerous for the world.
Your father aced a cognitive test. Democrats asked for him to take one, et cetera. They asked for -- you know, they question McCain's cognitive abilities, Reagan's cognitive abilities, you know?
And I watched Joe Biden at this press conference and he could barely mumble -- he's stumbling and mumbling and we keep playing this ad and it's so humiliating. You've seen it.
What are you -- is this guy up to the job?
TRUMP JR.: Clearly not, and he clearly wasn't at the time, Sean. I mean, we've said that for a long time. But because he could be basement Biden in hiding in Delaware, like he's spent 25 percent of his presidency thus far hiding, they can get away with it. When you have a trillion dollar mainstream media complex, when you have a trillion dollar social media complex, a trillion dollar plus big tech all running cover for you, you can get away with it.
It's amazing what he's been able to get away with, but it's so bad. It's so grossly incompetent and inept that even Joe Biden with trillions of dollars of big business trying to run cover for him and be his marketing department, he can't get away with it, anymore..
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: All right. I'm going to play it again. Just for people who may not have been able to see it and compare it to your father who comes on the show talks for a straight hour and every sentence is quite coherent. Listen.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BIDEN: The idea that --

But the nature not when the political coverage --

That --
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: I could play hours of that. You get the last word, Don.
TRUMP JR.: Sean, he's an incompetent. I mean it's bordering on being an imbecile at this point and it's just a shame that it's happening to our country and this is the leader of the free world, which is why our enemies are pouncing. They're reacting to this level of ineptitude.
HANNITY: I'm okay with the TV fill in, but I think, I'm going to make a prediction, go out on a limb here, I think your future may be in politics. I'm just guessing, but you don't have to tell me now. You can tell me the next time you're on.
TRUMP JR.: Okay.
HANNITY: Anyway, great to have you. Thank you.
Straight ahead, big controversy over a transgender swimmer at UPenn. Caitlyn Jenner, Tammy Bruce weigh in with the latest when we return. Is it fair to female athletes?
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: And tonight, controversy continues to swirl around the University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas whose continued participation in and dominance of women's swimming prompted the NCAA to issue a rule change. Now, following a vote last week they agreed to quote take a, quote, sport by sport approach to transgender participation.
Now, while deferring to the national governing body of each sport, in this case, the U.S. Swimming for an official policy, now the NCAA deferring this policymaking only has led to more confusion. Many of these governing bodies have no official guideline at all.
Meanwhile, her continued domination of the sport is sparking widespread outrage. Now, Piers Morgan writing in "The New York Post", calling the NCAA to, quote, stop this woke insanity now. The father of another Penn swimmer lamenting, quote, in an anonymous interview with FOX News that her teammates are realizing they'll never have a chance at winning podium -- winning the podium so long as she continues to compete given the physical disadvantages that they face.
But this woke ideology doesn't stop with athletics. As we're now learning tonight, Chicago public school teachers are now being forced to undergo training in which they were told that sex is a social construct, not rooted in biology.
Now, Olympic gold medalist and former California gubernatorial candidate Caitlyn Jenner, FOX News contributor Tammy Bruce join us for reaction.
Caitlyn, I noticed in the Piers article, you were quoted as saying some really interesting things to me, and we've known each other for a long time. And you said the NCAA is kicking the can down the road. In the case of Lia Thomas, she said, you don't care about her testosterone levels now for the last year or two, but you care about it for the first or years of her life, and you even mentioned that you wouldn't play in a woman's all woman's golf tournament because you can still out drive all girls by a hundred yards and you have no testosterone.
I know you've taken heat for saying that. Explain.
CAITLYN JENNER, OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST: Well, I've been pretty consistent, Sean, from the beginning. I've said that biological boys should not play in women's sports. It is just not fair. We have to protect women's sports from something like this.
Lia Thomas, first of all, I respect her right to live her life authentically. Suffering from gender dysphoria is a horrible lifelong struggle and every story is different. Let me tell you, Sean, I know that one and I respect her right to do that.
But with that comes some responsibility and integrity in what you're doing. And I don't know why she's doing it. We live in this woke world right now that's driving me crazy. I feel sorry for the girls on the Penn team because they have to be so woke and say, oh, this is great, we're down deep inside, they say they're saying this is wrong. And a couple of them anonymously because they can't come out and parents have now come out, but they have to do it anonymously and say this is wrong.
And it is wrong and I'm very disappointed in the NCAA. They did kick the can down the road, and but we have to deal with this issue. We have to protect women's sports. They work so hard for equality. Look at Title IX.
For years, they got there and finally got it through. I love women's sports. We have to protect it.
HANNITY: And by the way, Piers Morgan was saying, you know, I want nothing but tolerance, fairness, equality for all transgender people. People wouldn't go through the lengthy physical emotional turmoil if they didn't genuinely feel they were trapped in the wrong body and sexuality.
I mean, Tammy, I think -- you know, that's a pretty thoughtful column, he'll probably be attacked for it. But he's saying straight up that pretty much what Kaitlan saying.
TAMMY BRUCE, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Yeah, well, a lot of us have been attacked from both sides of the aisles for a number of different reasons. But you know what changes it is when someone like Caitlyn Jenner stands up for what's right, because that's what this is about.
It has really nothing to do with transgenderism at all. This is about fair play. It's about decency. It's about being fair with your fellow competitors or with your neighbors. This is about the nature of doing what's right in the midst of whatever your work is and if that's going to give you an advantage.
And you must know, and I don't know Lia. I'm sure she's a wonderful woman. At the same time, she knows every single meet that it is not an even playing field. She knows that every single time she blows out women's records at every moment and that is what we're talking about here.
So there is a small section of bullies who want no one to speak about this. But I can tell you, as Caitlyn has refused to participate in certain women's sports because she knows of her physical difference and her -- the ability to do better because of that physical difference having grown as a boy and then as a male, and now we know, I've got several transgender friends who also agree that this is outrageous. We also don't know of those athletes who have refused to do this because they don't make the news.
So I just want to tell everyone watching that this is not about the transgender community. There is -- this is not universally what is wanted. In fact, it harms the nature and the argument about who people are in general.
Let me tell you, if someone's going to be unfair as a transgender woman, they're going to be unfair as the man that they were. They're going to be unfair as a person. That's why this is about the individual and even after 17 years with this network --
HANNITY: Let me ask this --
BRUCE: -- I have to say this every now and then, Sean, is that as a gay woman, I understand the difference of living a different life, and it is about respecting the community and making decisions that's best in general for the people that you're with.
HANNITY: Well, then I can ask both of you the same question. Generally speaking, Caitlyn, how many times do you find yourself running into bigoted people? Or, Tammy, same question. We'll go with Caitlyn first.
JENNER: Well, to be honest with you, you get that, I never -- honestly, I never get that to my face. To my face, people are so nice.
BRUCE: Right.
JENNER: They're wonderful.
HANNITY: By the way, they're nice to me too into my face. Then I walk away and I hear it in the background.
JENNER: Yeah, to my face.
HANNITY: Yeah.
JENNER: And then -- and then you go online and check comments which I don't do very often but sometimes it's find it kind of fun. But, first of all, I can take a lot of heat. I'm kind of used to it, Sean. And to be honest with you, a lot of those comments that people make with nobody around, I don't know if they really believe that kind of stuff. They may.
But that's okay. I mean, honestly, I can take it. I'm about -- you know, Sean, I'm a patriot. I love this country. I love our freedoms, you know?
And I -- and I love the trans community, but we have to do what's fair and we have to do what's right. So, you know, Lia Thomas grew up as a biological boy, a couple of years ago was on the male swim team.
A couple of years of, you know, hormones and testosterone depressants doesn't change a lot of things, you know? Hands are big, cardiovascular system big. You see pictures her back is huge. She can run -- I mean, she can swim really fast and it's just not fair. It's not fair.
(CROSSTALK)
JENNER: I think the NCAA has to really look into this.
HANNITY: Tammy, we'll give you the last word. Tammy, we have about 45 seconds.
BRUCE: I want to make sure -- yep, I want to make sure that Caitlyn knows and everyone else knows the importance of standing up for what you believe in as the parents are, because we must to make a turn here. Transgenders, gay people, others must stand up and must hear honest opinions about this. That there -- it does no good for the community to be bullies or to not speak the truth about the nature of what's going on.
I want to thank Caitlyn for being a great role model and for doing the right thing and for everyone else to stand up because it helps all of us in the community to be honest and to be fair. There's just no doubt about it.
HANNITY: And I'm not playing golf with you, Caitlyn, because you kicked my ass. I mean, you know, you'll probably outdrive me by 150.
JENNER: Sean --
HANNITY: Yeah?
JENNER: You're dead -- you're dead meat, Sean. Yeah, on the golf course.
HANNITY: Oh, great.
JENNER: But thank you and follow caitlynjenner.com and I have a lot of stuff that I'm putting out there and to keep people up to date of what's going on.
HANNITY: All right, guys, thank you both.
When we come back, Spotify resisted left-wing pressure to drop Joe Rogan from their platform. Wait until you hear what they did instead. Adam Carolla weighs in, next.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. Earlier this week, well, aging classic rocker Neil Young gave the music streaming service Spotify an ultimatum, drop their number one podcast the "Joe Rogan Experience" or take Young's music off the platform.
Now , Young was apparently upset about what Rogan was saying about the vaccine on his podcast. Spotify, they sided with Rogan. Good for them.
Now, you'll have to listen "A Heart of Gold" somewhere else from now on.
Here with reaction is the author of "Everything Reminds Me of Something," host of the "Adam Carolla Show", he's also taping two comedy specials on Sunday, February the 6th that the I think it's a Brea Improv in California and it has featured guest appearances, William Shatner, Dennis Quaid. You get tickets, pre-order the book, just go to adamcarolla.com.
Adam, good to see you. Thanks for joining us.
ADAM CAROLLA, AUTHOR OF "EVERYTHING REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING": Thanks for having me, Sean.
HANNITY: You know, I've never supported boycotts. I never call for firings, and I don't get people that do. The ultimatum that was made to Spotify, they made the right call. I like -- I don't know Joe Rogan, but I like his work, I like the fact that he makes you think, and if you don't like it, you don't have to agree with it.
Why are people have a hard time if somebody doesn't toe the line on this topic or that topic?
CAROLLA: Well, basically, we've decided that there's one lane you can be in when it comes to COVID, and if you get outside of that lane, you need to be shut down.
But I find it interesting coming from rockers and comedians and artists because their job is to push back against the man and Neil Young should know the man isn't Joe Rogan. The man is Dr. Fauci, the man is Governor Gavin Newsom, the man is the CDC, the man is the WHO, the man is Biden. That's who the man is.
You're an old rocker. You're supposed to push back against the man. Joe Rogan is pushing back against the man and you're pushing back against Joe Rogan.
HANNITY: You know, it's interesting because they said in the beginning, if you get the vaccine, you're not going to get COVID. And they said, we'll never have a vaccine mandate. Now, we have vaccine mandates.
Now, whether you're vaccinated and have a booster or have natural immunity, you're still getting COVID. Everybody's getting. How can we run out of tests, therapeutics and we don't have any antivirals? Why did -- how could they be so behind the curve on this?
CAROLLA: But think about what all these idiots are saying. They're worried about misinformation. You turn on "The View", you turn on CNN -- Joe Rogan misinformation. What do you guys been right about?
You close the beaches down. You close the schools down, cloth masks were going to save us all, the vaccine was going to be effective, natural immunity wasn't effective, what have you been right about? That's really the question.
I put Joe Rogan's batting average up against CNN's batting average any day of the week. They thought ivermectin was horse paste.
HANNITY: By the way, a drug that did win the Nobel Prize. That is a good point in 2015. Now, granted, Merck doesn't support us off label use.
But one thing that has been working are monoclonal antibodies. Now, for Regeneron, I know was do working wonders on the delta variant. Now they say GSK sotrovimab is working on the omicron variant, but there's none available. We ran out.
Every doctor, Adam, I talked to says these antiviral pills the ones by Pfizer are amazing, but you can't get them anywhere. And people are still having a hard time getting tests.
How did they run out of tests, now we're in year three of this pandemic?
CAROLLA: Well, basically what they decided is you need to do what they want you to do and what they want you to do is get vaccinated, and that's why they've always pooh-poohed any therapeutic. I mean, look at the theme. Anytime a therapeutic has come around they pooh-poohed it.
The thing that's funny is guys like Neil Young who back in the day would have been on the side of natural immunity are now on the side of big pharma and pushing against natural immunity. So the whole thing is upside down.
HANNITY: Well, now, there's been a rash of train robberies going out there in L.A. and apparently one had a lot of guns in them. You're not involved in any of these incidents.
How do we get back to train robberies? We're robbing trains now? Is that because of the LAPD budget being cut like the NYPD budget?
CAROLLA: Yeah, I don't know. I mean the next thing you know stage coaches are going to be robbed on their way to San Francisco. I don't know what --
HANNITY: Trolley.
CAROLLA: -- what year is it. Yes, the trolley was robbed. It's crazy.
And the great thing is Governor Gavin Newsom stands amongst the garbage and goes, what the hell is going on here? Looks like a third world country. Well, you're the banana republic dictator of this third world country, how come you don't know what's going on in your country?
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: Why the hell am I in New York paying the highest amount of taxes in the country, you're out there in California you pay the highest -- the second highest? What -- what is wrong with us we need to leave and pay less and live better and have better weather. I wouldn't be facing 20 inches of snow this weekend.
CAROLLA: I got to tell you, right after we're done, I'm going to blow in a call to Joe Rogan. I think he's got a guest room. You and I can meet there and start a podcast. That's all I got.
HANNITY: You think so? We'll set our own little country up we'll call this the freedom of speech -- the land of free speech and misfit toys, I don't know. Probably would work perfectly.
Adam, thank you. Appreciate you being with us.
All right, straight ahead, the personal attacks on Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, they've been over the top. One Democrat even now questioning his Christian faith. One lawmaker is fighting back hard. We've got the video, we'll explain, straight ahead.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. The Youngkin administration in the commonwealth of Virginia is already off to a big start, fulfilling campaign promise after campaign promise. That's driving the media and Democrats nuts. Democrats in the Old Dominion, not happy.
One liberal state delegate questioning Youngkin's faith for banning critical race theory. But one Republican in the Virginia House of Delegates has had enough. Take a look at this tape.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NICK FREITAS, VIRGINIA GOP DELEGATE: I've never gone on this floor, Mr. Speaker, and suggested that the other side of the white aisle were racist because they didn't agree with my particular policy positions. Almost every day, someone on the other side of the aisle either gets up and either subtly or comes right out and suggests that if you don't agree with them on policy, well, then you're not a Christian. You're a sexist. You're a bigot. You're a racist.
I'm tired of it. My constituents are tired of it, because when these claims are made, they're not just made against Governor Youngkin. They're not just made against us, they are made in part against the people that elected to send us here.
If you're going to question the faith or the intentions of anybody that happens to disagree with you on policy, then you don't get to lecture us on compassion, tolerance or an open debate.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: That lawmaker, Virginia Republican Delegate Nick Freitas is now with us.
Good for you. You never got up before that. You never spoke before?
FREITAS: Oh, no, no. I've spoken before. In fact, as many of my Democrat colleagues don't appreciate it when I get up and speak. But then again, I don't particularly appreciate them suggesting that me or my constituents are bigots because I disagree with them on tax policy.
HANNITY: But isn't that the playbook of Democrats every two and four years and actually it used to be every two and four years, now it's almost every day?
FREITAS: Oh, it's not just about the politics of it, Sean. That's the problem.
The reason why my inbox is full and my phone has been ringing off the hook with people all over the country thanking me for what I said is because this isn't just in the political realm. This is where they go to work. This is when they take their kids to school. This is when they turn on the TV and watch a football game.
And we have tons of Americans all over the country that have been repeatedly told that if they don't buy into whatever the latest progressive talking point is today, that somehow this makes them a bigot or a bad person and quite frankly, they expect those of us that they elect to represent them to stand up and defend them not because they need it but because they deserve it.
HANNITY: You know, every conservative I know, I've been doing radio 33 years, 26 years here at Fox, as a conservative, there are ignorant people out there and I want nothing to do with them. And every conservative I know wants nothing to do with ignorant people. This is a big lie that has always perpetuated.
I'm glad you spoke up. Are you going to continue?
FREITAS: Oh, absolutely, because like you said, this is not just about the narrative. The narrative is frustrating enough, but this is less and less becoming about Republican and Democrat. This is becoming about reasonable versus unreasonable.
And when your entire narrative is believe the way I do or you're a bigot, and your policy position is do what I want or I will punish you through government, I'm sorry this is not the country that I fought for. Everybody in this country deserves the right to be able to live their life the way they want, to be able to pursue happiness in accordance with their definition of it, not some progressive politician thinks they know best and they deserve to know that there's going to be people that stand up and defend them.
HANNITY: Well, I need you to do me a favor. You need to run for higher office, you can win. Thank you for being with us.
More "Hannity" after this.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
HANNITY: All right. Unfortunately, that is all the time we have left for tonight. Thank you for being with us. We don't thank you enough, but you make this show possible. Now, we hope you have a great night. Please set your DVR so you never miss an episode. For any news, information about the show, where we're going, where we're headed, have a big announcement about an event coming up soon but I can't tell you yet, but it's on hannity.com.
Anyway in the meantime, let not your hearts be troubled, why? Because Laura Ingraham has another great show. She takes it away right now -- Laura.
