GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Tonight, shocking video from Wisconsin. Police were engaged in a high-speed chase with Dana Bettin, when suddenly Bettin slowed his car, opened the door and dropped, yep, you're right, the baby on the highway.

Our next guest witnessed the whole thing. Joining us by phone from Green Bay is Sergeant David Catalano from the Wisconsin State Patrol. Sergeant, the unthinkable dropping a baby out of the car what happened that day?
SGT. DAVID CATALANO, WISCONSIN STATE PATROL: I had just gotten on the road. I was hearing that my trooper was being rear-ended by Mr. Bettin's vehicle and so I responded to the area.
I got over to that crossover to find out what was happening and this whole thing developed in front of me. My initial reaction was shock and then I knew I had to respond to it and try to help that baby.

VAN SUSTEREN: Sergeant, what's the condition of the baby?
CATALANO: The baby is fine. I talked to the mother just the other night and everything was fine.
VAN SUSTEREN: And, of course, Dana Bettin then went on and he was involved in an accident. Then he died a couple days after the accident, is that right, sergeant?

CATALANO: That is correct.
VAN SUSTEREN: All right, sergeant, very dramatic video. We're all pleased that the baby is safe and sound, the unthinkable throwing a baby out of a car. Sergeant, thank you.
CATALANO: Thank you.
