    South Korean Rocket Launches, Blows Up

    A South Korean rocket carrying a climate observation satellite apparently exploded 137 seconds into its flight early Thursday, the country's second major space setback in less than a year.

    June 10: A South Korean Space Launch Vehicle takes off from the launch pad at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Korea. South Korea says communications with a rocket launched by the country has been lost following liftoff. The two-stage Naro rocket operated normally during and after liftoff from the country's space center, but communications with the rocket were quickly lost. "We believe that the Naro rocket is likely to have exploded," a spokesman said.
