NEW YORK – Following an unexplained incident that knocked Google's mail and application services offline for some users, the services are back up and working, the company claims, although there were still reports of outages.
According to Google's Apps Status Dashboard, service is green across the board, indicating that the earlier issues had been resolved.
"The problem with Google Mail should be resolved," reads a note posted to the Dashboard.
Some users nonetheless were still reporting service disruptions Wednesday afternoon. Google told FoxNews.com that the latest information on the outage was on the Dashboard, and the root cause of the issue would be posted when teams have completed their investigation.
The company told the Associated Press Wednesday morning that it was "working hard to restore normal operation."
Google's apps status dashboard at the time showed that its Mail, Drive file storage service and office-application services were "disrupted." Its administrator control panel, which lets companies manage their Google applications, was completely down.
The disruptions started affecting a limited group of people worldwide around 8 a.m. Eastern time.
