A Polish woman recently gave birth prematurely to quintuplets without the use of fertility aids, Reuters and the Times of Malta reported.
Civil engineer Paulina Szymkiewisz gave birth in Krakow, Poland, to the five girls in the 26th week of her pregnancy, about 14 weeks early, the Times of Malta reported.
Szymkiewisz told Reuters she did not use fertility drugs. Doctors said the girls will spend the next three months in the hospital and believe the babies are "probably identical" but will not know for another couple of weeks, Reuters reported.
"It's not every day that people get this kind of news," Szymkiewisz said. "It's easier to win the lottery than to have five children."
She went on to tell Reuters that she is happy about the birth and concerned only for the health of the children.
