Venezuela Police Investigate Possible Link Between 10 Bodies, Recent Kidnapping

Venezuelan authorities have found the bodies of 10 people who were shot to death.

Federal Police Chief Wilmer Flores Trosell tells the Venezuela-based Union Radio that the corpses were discovered in the western state of Tachira, bordering Colombia.

Trosell says police are investigating to determine if the killings are linked to a recent kidnapping in Tachira.

On Oct. 11, unidentified assailants abducted 12 people, including 10 Colombians, a Venezuelan and a Peruvian, while they were playing football.

Police have not established a motive for the kidnapping or the killings.

Trosell told Union Radio the bodies were found Saturday.
