Utah Woman Charged With Killing Ex-Daughter-in-Law

Salt Lake County prosecutors charged a 70-year-old woman with murder on Thursday in the fatal shooting of her daughter-in-law.

Court papers say a witness saw Mary Nance Hanson fire multiple shots into the car of 34-year-old Tetyana Nikitina as she prepared to leave the Salt Lake Community Action Program Head Start school on Friday.

The documents say Nikitina, a teacher, died from four gun shot wounds to the head.

She divorced Hanson's son in 2005.

Hanson is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail on $1 million bail and could spend the rest of her life in prison if convicted.

Court records didn't list an attorney for her, a phone number couldn't be found and the jail would not take a message for her.
