A 12-year-old boy is in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and two teens are recovering after a shooting at an Asheville birthday party.
Mildred Edgerton says the shooting occurred in the front of her home during her daughter's 13th birthday party. She says there was a confrontation early Sunday between kids leaving the party and a group arriving at the house.
Edgerton says her daughter never wants to have another birthday party because of the incident.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims. The 12-year-old is being treated at Mission Health & Hospitals in Asheville, where a spokeswoman said Monday she couldn't release the boy's condition.
Police say two 17-year-old girls were also shot — one in the arm and one in the leg. The Asheville Citizen-Times reports the teens were treated and released from the hospital.
